Some of our members enjoy the challenge of swimming longer distances in all four strokes and the individual medley (if they can manage it). Masters Swimming Australia has developed a programme to encourage longer distance swims of 400m, 800m and 1500m as well as 30, 45 or 60 minute swims.
Points are awarded to the individual and the Club for age-appropriate time and distance achievements, and rankings over the year are published for all participants. Different point levels encourage swimmers of all ages and abilities to reach new goals.
Normally, we have members who swim regularly at 7:30 AM each Friday or at 1:15 PM on Saturday (before our Club training sessions) or the first Sunday of each month 8:00 AM. However, oue to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, endurance sessions have been ceased until further notice.
Cost is $2 plus pool admission.
Coffee and socializing usually follows our Endurance swimming events.

In 2019, Miami Masters came in fourth in Australia for endurance points. With four of our members scoring the maximum 1005 points and then another five scoring more than 800 points. Next year, we're planning to score even more.
